A surpise when the golden yellow flowers appear in early fall followed by green foliage that persist over winter. Foliage can be damaged by hard freeze, in which case the plant may not flower the following year. Foliage dies down in late spring. Divide and replant bulbs in late spring as the foliage dies back.
