This is a large timber bamboo that can reach a height of 65 feet with the culms having a diameter of 4.5 inches. It can survive as far north as zone 5, but the height is reduced greatly as the temperatures decrease. Give this running species at least 25 square feet of growing room or confine it with barrier in the soil.
