Comments:
Well adapted for heavy shade. Connot tolerate direct sunlight during the summer. Foliage subject to winter kill even with light freezes. Produces single, palm-like leaves. Best adapted to locations where freezes do not occur. Makes a handsome ground cover planting in warm climates. Some grooming is necessary to remove old, straggly foliage. Mulched plants that have top freeze injury will normally return the following spring in zone 8b and zone 9.
