This species has waxy white culms when young. Up to 7 branches may be present at some nodes. It is resistant to deer, drought, heat & humidity, pollution and rabbits. It is a good seashore bamboo. Be aware that this and other running bamboos can be invasive. Nodes may bear up to 7 principal branches.
