Comments:
This flowering cherry is a close relative to the Okame flowering cherry. It makes an excellent specimen flowering tree and can be used as a grove planting in parks, playgrounds and other public open spaces. The summer foliage is a dark green and is followed by nice autumn color. Provide full sunlight and a well drained soil. It is reported to have good tolerance against insects and diseases, but members of this group are generally relatively short-lived trees because of root rot.
