Produces purplish flowers all summer long that make excellent for use in floral arrangements. Produces bulbils that can be used to propogate more plants. Have seen it grow from these in the garden. This ginger is more drought tolerant than other ones. This genus tends to spread rapidly in the landscape where conditions are goof for its growth.
