A herbaceous perennial adapted to wet soils and will grow in standing water. Cream to yellow stripes on green leaves are eye-catching in a landscape. In fairly good gardens soils its rhizomes spreads rapidly almost to the point of being invasive. Good planted along streams, lake banks and in water gardens
