Comments:
The foot long, feathery, white seed heads are spectacular for several weeks in late summer and fall. This is a very drought tolerant species. Once established very difficult to eradicate so be sure there is adequate space for full growth. Early growth may be slow, but size and spread are difficult to control once clumps become four to five feet across. Root system is hard and woody. Requires nearly full sunlight to flower. Plants benefit from annual grooming by cutting back old foliage and flowers. Reported to overwinter many insects and rodents within the dense, tufted mass.
