Comments: Reported to be the earliest hippeastrun to be grown in the garden, this heavy producer erupts with a spectacular show in mid-spring with numerous scarlet red flowers. Two or more scapes with 4-6 flowers per scapes are not unusual. Probably the most cold hardy of the hippeastrums. It also has fragramt flowers and is deer resistant.
