Comments:
It is most attractive when in flower and covered with blue-black fruit in fall and winter. Because it is tolerant of air pollution, strong winds and poor, compact soils it was widely used as a street tree and in urban plantings. Its use has greatly declined, since it has become a very invasive pest. It produces copious amount of seeds and birds eat them spreading this plant over wide distances.
