This is an excellent evergreen to semi-evergreen shrub that is sometimes used as a substitute for boxwood. It produces petite leaves with cream-colored margins. Foliage is very fine textured. Foliage can smell is somewhat unpleasant, thus the species name, foetida (foul-smelling)
