Comments:
Native to mountainous areas of NC, SC, GA, and TN. Similar to the more widespread smooth hydrangea, Hydrangea arborescens. Is reported to produce more flowers than H. arborescens. Lower leaf suraface is densely covered with felt-like hairs, appearing bright white or silver giving the plant its common name.
