Scarlet flowers only last for two weeks or less, their strong color is worth growing them. Clean fallen leaves from beneath plant to help control leaf disease. Remove old woody canes periodically to keep flowering quince plants thrifty and blooming. They can live many years in a garden setting. Flowering quince can be somewhat sparsely flowering in warm climates.
