Mealy bugs and scale insects often attack this ficus. It is also bothered with spider mites. Successfully and widely used in well lighted, large spaces in shopping malls. Leaf drop is a problem where there is not sufficient light. Cannot tolerate freezing temperatures. This species sometime found under the name Ficus maclellandii 'Alii'.
