Comments: Thryllis is a very dependable shrub in the warm parts of the country. It can sustain some cold damage in zone 8, but usually returns from the roots in early spring. In the spring and summer the shrub is covered with small clusters of yellow flowers on the ends of the young shoots and continue blooming some until late fall. Occasional pruning is required to keep growth in check and the twiggy shrub tidy. It grows best in full sunlight but will tolerate a wide range of growing conditions, but in shade plants become leggy. Makes an excellent container plant and can be planted in mass to form a low hedge in the warm parts of the country.
